Location: Cornwall, England

Significance: The Earthorne Menhir is a standing stone placed at a sacred energy point, some time during the Bronze Age, perhaps 4000 years ago. It is a megalith of the same nature as the standing stones of Stonehenge and Avebury in Wiltshire, England, or Carnac in France. Archaeologists and anthropologists still study these megaliths to discover the practices of Bronze Age man.

The Threat: Vandalism

Preservation Status: The farmer who owned the land on which the Earthorne Menhir stood unearthed the stone, because he felt uneasy about it. Though the stone was replaced after a public outcry, it was broken during this move.
